Dr. Adler is the longest-practicing partner of Suffolk Plastic Surgeons, having been in practice since 1987. After a long, successful solo plastic surgery practice, he co-founded Suffolk Plastic Surgeons, P.C. in 1995. Shortly thereafter, Suffolk Plastic Surgeons, P.C. completed construction of its beautiful, free-standing East Setauket facility, complete with a full ambulatory surgery suite and luxurious medical spa, Spa Belle Meade.
A native of Long Island, Dr. Adler received his undergraduate degree, with cum laude honors, from the University of Pittsburgh. He completed his medical education at the University of New York Downstate Medical School. Then, he did his General Surgical training at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital and Beth Israel Medical Center in New York. Thereafter, he completed his Plastic Surgery residencies at Albany Medical Center Hospital, serving as Chief Resident. He started to practice plastic surgery in Suffolk County in January, 1987.
The recipient of numerous awards, including Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare and “Top Doctor” honors from Castle-Connelly, Dr. Adler is an Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the State University at Stony Brook School of Medicine where he has also been head of the hospital’s Quality Assurance Committee-Plastic Surgery since 1995. In addition to University Hospital, he also practices at several local hospitals across Long Island, including J.T. Mather Memorial, Brookhaven Memorial, St. Charles, and St. Catherine of Sienna hospitals. He founded and served as Medical Director of the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Center at St. Charles Hospital. Dr. Adler enjoys conducting presentations on various topics related to plastic surgery at many local hospitals.
Dr. Adler is a member of numerous medical societies including the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), American Association for Hand Surgery, New York Regional Society of Plastic Surgeons, Medical Society of the State of New York (MSSNY), Suffolk Academy of Medicine (SAM), and the Nassau Surgical Society. Dr. Adler is also a fellow of both the American International College of Surgeons (FICS) and the American College of Surgeons (FACS).
Dr. Adler is a long-time supporter of the philanthropic organization The United Jewish Appeal, most recently having gone on a mission to Israel in 2013.
Dr. Adler speaks Spanish, and enjoys boating, fishing, kayaking, and cycling. He’s also a wine enthusiast with a passion for travel and Jimmy Buffett music.
