Chemical
Peel
Chemical peels remove damaged outer
layers of skin on the face to smooth texture, reduce scarring, and remove
blemishes and pre-cancerous growths to produce healthy, glowing skin. Peel
formulas and strengths are tailored to each patient. Peels can be combined with
other procedures such as facelifts for a younger look. They may be covered by
insurance if they are performed for medical rather than cosmetic
reasons.

Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion improves mild to
moderate sun damage, scarring, wrinkles and other superficial skin problems. A
gentle stream of tiny particles exfoliates the outer layer of skin and provides
a fresh, glowing, younger appearance. Only a small amount of skin is removed, so
sensitive areas such as the face, chest, neck, arms and hands can be treated.
Results are comparable to a light chemical peel and should be immediately
visible. Microdermabrasion is often performed in conjunction with other skin
renewal procedures, such as laser treatment and chemical peels. Multiple
treatments are recommended for full effect.

Injectable
Fillers
Soft tissue fillers are injected under
the skin to "plump up," contour and smooth wrinkles, lines and hollow areas in
the face and to augment the lips or cheeks for a younger, fuller
appearance.
BOTOX® Cosmetic
BOTOX® Cosmetic is commonly
used to reduce or eliminate the appearance of facial wrinkles. It is injected
under the skin into areas surrounding the eyes, forehead and mouth to smooth
crow's feet, frown and worry lines, and lines on the neck. Made from a purified
protein, BOTOX® relaxes wrinkles and gives the face a rejuvenated look. BOTOX®
may also be useful for migraine headaches, excessive sweating, and eye and neck
muscle spasms.

Collagen
Collagen is
a naturally occurring protein found in the second layer of skin (the dermis)
which "plumps up" the skin, joints, bones and ligaments. Injections counteract
the effects of gravity, sun exposure and years of facial muscle movement by
filling out sunken areas and smoothing lines for a rejuvenated look. Results may
begin to fade in a few months, depending on the patient’s age, genetic
background, skin quality, life and body site. Because of this, and because
injections cannot improve severe wrinkles or deep folds, the procedure is often
combined with facial resurfacing or plastic surgery for a more satisfying and
longer-lasting outcome.

Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid is a sugar found naturally in the body that works with collagen to
keep the skin smooth and supple. Aging, exposure to sunlight and other factors
cause the hyaluronic acid in our cells to break down. Our skin loses volume, and
lines and wrinkles appear. Hyaluronic acid injections replace those sugars and restore
the skin to its youthful appearance. Frequently treated areas are the nasolabial
(smile) lines, vertical lip lines, frown lines between the eyes, and marionette
lines. No pre-treatment skin test is necessary. Treatments are quick and
painless, and results are natural-looking and immediately visible. Effects last
for a few months and then begin to fade.

Laser Vein Removal
Together, spider veins and varicose veins affect approximately 80 million people
in the United States each year. Spider veins are most commonly located on the
face and legs. In contrast, varicose veins tend to be localized on the backside
of the calf or along the inside of the leg. Although physicians do not full
understand the cause of spider and varicose veins, they do attribute factors
such as genetics, weight gain, and hormonal fluctuations associated with
pregnancy, birth control pills, and hormone replacement therapy, as well as
sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
In addition to being
unsightly, some types of spider and varicose veins can be associated with
varying degrees of pain and discomfort, and in some instances, more serious
medical conditions. Among the many treatments available, laser vein removal is
fast becoming a popular option to effectively reduce the appearance of spider
veins as well as small or medium varicose veins on the body.

Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy is the standard treatment
for varicose and spider veins. A special sclerosing solution is injected into
the diseased vein, which then collapses and is gradually absorbed by the body.
By the end of the treatment program, the veins are less visible on the skin
surface. Sclerotherapy usually also relieves symptoms associated with enlarged
veins and prevents further complications.
