Bodacious Bras for a Cure
Dr. Kenneth Kneessy, Dr. Stephen Coccaro and Suffolk Plastic Surgeons are extremely proud to support the Stony Brook Cancer Center's women's programs. On April 14th we attended their Bodacious Bras for a Cure event which featured an auction of 100-200 designer bra creations to support the programs which offer women emotional, physical and psychosocial resources.
Here's the New York Mets "Bodacious Bra" Dr. Kneessy and his wife Lori won for "supporting" the cause!
Dr. Coccaro and his wife Anna designed the “Slinky Bra” which was one of only a few to be auctioned off. The bra with overlapping scales represents the cool, smooth reptile which tempted Eve. Since ancient times, the snake has been a symbol of medicine. Additionally, since snakes shed their skin they have always been a symbol of rebirth and regeneration.

Dr. Kneessy was also able to mingle with some celebrity guests, and took a photo with New York Jets star Marty Lyons. Marty shared an inspirational story about his mom who he lost to breast cancer, which was very touching for all in attendance.
The event was a great success, and we had a wonderful time supporting such an important cause. You can find out more information about the Stony Brook Cancer Center here.
